Friday 20th May

After the success of last year’s I Lombardi dinner, we are pleased to announce that Stefano Manfredi and Alessandro Pavoni will be bringing their home region’s wonderful dishes back to Manfredi at Bells again in 2011.

Alessandro and Stefano are not only from the same region of Lombardy, but also from the same province of Brescia, tucked way up in the great lakes area of northern Italy. Lombardy’s produce is outstanding and has contributed to the diversity of its cooking repertoire.

This year’s I Lombardi dinner draws on the rich heritage of game dishes with Pavoni giving us a taste of the famous “Spiedo Bresciano”- different game meats cooked slowly over a wood fire. This grand dish, rarely seen in Australia, will be served with steaming, golden polenta.

Manfredi will form delicate Muscovy duck tortellini and serve them in a rich duck broth with greens from the Bells garden. The ducks are grown nearby by Jill Wran at her Jum Jum farm north of Wyong in the Yarramalong Valley. The full menu- spuntini (canapes) on arrival and four courses including dessert will be published a little closer to the date.

This year’s dinner will be the inaugural event to open Bells brand new purpose built events and functions room , The Conservatory at Bells .

Cost per person including matching wines with each course is $135. Seats are limited so please book early on 02 43602411 for a 7pm for 7.30 start.
