Stefano Manfredi is an acclaimed food writer and  and freelance  columnist for  various publications .  He has had numerous books published over the course of his career, beginning with the much-loved Fresh from Italy in 1993, co-authored by John Newton. Topping the bestseller list immediately after its release, Fresh From Italy encapsulates Manfredi’s journey as an Italian immigrant and his philosophies of modern Australian cooking. It is now included in the permanent collection at The National Library of Australia.

Collaborating again with John Newton in 2000, Manfredi’s second title bel mondo was as much an homage to the universal dining experience and culture of Sydney restaurants as it was about bel mondo itself. Anecdotal, philosophical and detailed in its descriptions of restaurant life, bel mondo is a window into one of Australia’s most elite and influential restaurants.

In 2005, Stefano Manfredi was one of a small group of celebrated Italian chefs to be included in the first English edition of the classic Italian cookbook, The Silver Spoon. He has also contributed recipes to various other titles, including Damien Pignolet’s Salades (2010)
