Julie currently takes charge of Decor Manfredi  a  brand new arm of the  Manfredi business offering hands on Interior Decorating solutions  for both private and hospitality clients.

Bio:

Julie Manfredi Hughes  can be counted as  one of Australia’s most awarded and celebrated restaurateurs and is managing director of Manfredi Enterprises.

Since the opening of The Restaurant Manfredi in 1983 , Julie has influenced and defined Australian food culture through projects that stay true to a heritage of tradition, design, effortlessness and innovation. With over thirty years’ experience in her field, she has played a key part in the direction and refinement of Sydney’s dining scene.

She brought  a creative approach together with business and marketing expertise to Manfredi Enterprises, working in collaboration with artists, architects, interior decorators, and graphic designers to create the distinct aesthetic approach that defines the Manfredi brand.

At the helm of  Restaurant Manfredi opened in 1983 and bel mondo, a land mark restaurant,  opened  with Stefano Manfredi in 1996, Julie secured her place as an innovator.

Julie’s leadership, expertise, passion and vision can be seen in signature restaurant projects , Manfredi at Bells  ( 2007-2016) and Osteria Balla Manfredi  at The Star (2011-2016) , as well as Espresso di Manfredi’s new variety of coffee blends and ceramics.

Above her role with the Manfredi signature brands, Julie has also served as a culinary consultant for the launch of food concepts in places such as Myer and the Art Gallery of NSW. She has also served as a member of the board of The NSW Restaurant and Catering Association, whilst maintaining her involvement in support of community service and the arts. In 1999, she was inducted into the Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame and was a finalist in the Telstra Australian Industry Private Sector Business Woman of the year award.
