Osteria Balla Manfredi and Manfredi at Bells share a very unique connection, and it’s not just Stefano Manfredi.
Both head chefs, Gabriele Taddeucci (Balla) and Marco Ribechini (Manfredi at Bells) share the same hometown, growing up in Lucca, Tuscany.
To celebrate this unique commonality, Manfredi will host a duo of dinners – one at Balla and one at Bells – inviting the two chefs to collaborate on a menu and share their favourite home dishes for guests.
The town of Lucca embodies all that is admired about Italian cuisine; the freshest seasonal produce, handmade pasta, beans, salt-less bread, fruity olive oil and herbs. Guests will enjoy the best of these, including Marco Ribechini’s Tordelli Lucchesi, traditional ravioli from Lucca filled with roast meats as well as Necci Lucchesi, Chestnut Crepes with Sweet Ricotta. The night will also showcase exceptional Tuscan wines selected by Bells at Killcare sommelier Adam Lambeth and Balla sommelier Piero Fonseca.
Gabriele says, “For me, cooking dishes from my home town means everything because I get the chance to explore my traditions and to show my team where my passion for the food started.
Having the opportunity to share my family’s recipes with Marco and our guests is very unique considering we are thousands of miles away from Lucca. I’m sure that it will be a lot of fun and we’ll delight our guests with an amazing journey to Lucca.”
